Ways to Give

Investing in the philanthropic mission of Alpha Chi Omega can be done through a variety of ways:

  • Gifts to the Annual Fund Campaign - to help us seek and cultivate Wisdom, Devotion and Achievement
  • Gifts in honor or memory of sisters, family members and friends
  • Gifts through Matching Gift Programs which may be available through your employer
  • Gifts through planned giving vehicles such as bequests and insurance policies
  • Gifts from Alumnae Associations and Collegiate Chapter
  • Gifts of your time through volunteering with the Foundation

The following methods are the most frequently used for charitable contributions. Please consult your attorney, financial planner, accountant and/or tax advisor for additional information about gifts most advantageous to your situation.

Cash Gifts

The most convenient and frequently used method of support to the Alpha Chi Omega Foundation is a gift of cash-outright currency, personal check, credit card authorization or money order - made payable to the Alpha Chi Omega Foundation, Inc. and mailed to: 5939 Castle Creek Parkway, North Drive, Indianapolis, IN 46250.

Appreciated Securities

A gift of your appreciated stocks, bonds or mutual fund shares is an ideal way to support the Foundation. The educational programs of the Foundation will benefit from your support and you will receive a tax deduction for you contributions. In addition, transferring the securities prior to liquidation will help you avoid capital gains taxes. Please contact the Foundation for personal assistance with the transfer of these assets.

Gifts by Bequest

The Alpha Chi Omega Foundation may be named a beneficiary in a will or trust of a designated gift, a percentage of the estate or a residual bequest of whatever property remains after specific bequests have been fulfilled. Inclusion of the Foundation in your will or trust should reference the Alpha Chi Omega Foundation, Indianapolis, IN. In addition, the Foundation can be named as the beneficiary of a life insurance policy or retirement plan.

Life Income Gifts

Life income gifts can produce significant and estate tax savings. These giving vehicles can be created upon the individual needs of the donor. Examples include charitable gift annuities and charitable remainder trusts.

Capital Campaign

As Alpha Chi Omega prepares for the future, the leaders of our Fraternity recognize the ever-growing need to provide relevant programming and support for our members. Whether this support manifests itself in additional scholarships and fellowships, more educational programming, or financial assistance to members in need, the Alpha Chi Omega Foundation is poised to make a difference in the lives of our members.

In 1999, the Alpha Chi Omega Foundation launched the "Pathway to the Future" campaign to increase the General Endowment to $2.5 million. Ground-breaking took place in November for the Pathway to the Future Brick Garden on the grounds of the Alpha Chi Omega headquarters.

With the support of generous donors, the Alpha Chi Omega Foundation surpassed it's original goal of $2.5 million. While the campaign may be over, there are still opportunities be part of this historic venture.

For each gift made to the General Endowment of $200, $500 or more, a brick will be engraved in your honor or in honor, memory, or recognition of other(s) you designate, and will be included in the Pathway to the Future Garden at Alpha Chi Omega Headquarters. Donations may be made by anyone. Ideas for commemorating a brick include in memory or honor of someone special, initiation classes, reunions, special occasions, graduations.
