Funding Opportunities
Endowed Funds

If you’d like to create a lasting legacy for yourself, your family, your organization, your chapter, or to honor or memorialize a loved one, the Alpha Chi Omega Foundation will help you set up and manage a named endowed fund.

In a nutshell, this is a fund with a set minimum amount of $25,000 which can be given over the course of five years. The principal is invested and the earnings awarded in the way you designate—often a scholarship or grant supporting educational or philanthropic pursuits.

It’s important to have a large gift up front and to add to the principal over time, especially when creating scholarships or grants. That way, the resulting awards will be large enough to make a dent in contemporary education costs and remain significant over time, even in the face of inflation and down markets.

Here are the kinds of endowed funds you may create via our Foundation.

  • Love and Loyalty Grants

Love and Loyalty Grants are made to the Alpha Chi Omega Fraternity and to individual collegiate and alumnae chapters, alumnae and collegiate members. They help to advance leadership, learning and service.

  • Scholarships

Scholarships may be awarded to undergraduate and graduate members based on academics, chapter leadership, campus/community activities and financial need.

  • Educational Assistance Grants

Educational Assistance Grants are need-based grants that may help members with tuition and expenses for undergraduates, or continuing education or graduate school costs for alumnae members.

  • Member Assistance Grants

Member Assistance Grants are for members facing financial difficulty due to changing life circumstances.

  • Opportunity Grants

Opportunity Grants may be awarded to organizations outside of Alpha Chi Omega that in some way support the sorority’s mission. Currently, Opportunity Grants are awarded annually to MacDowell Colony, Easter Seals, and to organizations that support victims of domestic violence.
