Career Positions Available Now:

Campaign Officer

To ensure that Alpha Chi Omega remains a strong, relevant organization, the Foundation is planning a potential major campaign.  If that campaign is approved, this position would be available on or after October 1, 2010. Interviews for selected candidates will begin immediately upon submission of materials including resume, cover letter and references.

Position Summary: 

Responsible for planning, implementation and evaluation of a major fundraising campaign for the Alpha Chi Omega Foundation.  Position is expected to build on past annual and campaign successes and foster key relationships to expand the organization’s fundraising capacity.  The Campaign Officer will accompany Foundation staff, trustees or others on frequent development trips. 

Essential Functions:

1. Develop and implement a comprehensive campaign plan.
2. Achieve campaign fundraising goal. 
3. Define and clearly articulate a case for support of Alpha Chi Omega and its programs.
4. Coordinate and manage activities related to a campaign including, events, one-on-one meetings and education.
5. Identify and incorporate new donors into the campaign to increase the donor base.
6. Prepare and deliver donor proposals.
7. Participate as a member of the Foundation team to provide input and feedback related to campaign issues.
8. Travel approximately ten days (two weeks) per month to cultivate/solicit donors; goal of 15 – 20 substantive contacts monthly.
9. Work with campaign chairs, trustees, and select volunteers as needed to achieve campaign goals.
10. Participate in Foundation staff meetings, campaign meetings and Foundation board meetings as needed.
11. Perform other special projects and duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other Characteristics:

BA Degree, MA preferred with at least 7 – 10 years prior experience as a development professional, with at least the last 4 years in leadership or management positions.  Demonstrate successful development and implementation of strategic activities and tasks with clear goals and objectives.  Provide evidence of being highly energetic, self-starting, entrepreneurial and creative in formulating ideas, opportunities and strategies for development campaign duties.  Demonstrate analytical skills, manage multiple tasks simultaneously and ability to problem solve.  Must have outstanding verbal and written communication skills.

Collegiate Administrator for Lambda Chapter

Position Summary:

Working with Staff, participates in the development and oversight of a multi-faceted strategic plan for Lambda Chapter of Alpha Chi Omega focusing on leadership development, chapter education and housing operations.

General Functions for the Position:

  • Function as the House Director for Lambda Chapter overseeing facility management, kitchen operations and residential living operations.
  • Function as the Collegiate Administrator with the authority to appoint, train, and supervise the chapter advisory board.
  • Work with the Advisory Board and the Executive Board to fulfill the chapter’s probationary terms and incorporate the actions taken to meet the terms into a long range Lambda Chapter Plan of Excellence over a four year period.
  • Perform other special projects and responsibilities as assigned.

Specific Functions for the Position:

  • Serves as the House Director assuming all responsibilities under the specific job description (see below)
  • Serves as the Resident Advisor assuming all roles and responsibilities of the position and partnering with the Collegiate Experience department.

Working Relations:

  • Works with Headquarter Staff
  • Interacts with the House Corporation
  • Oversees the Advisory Board
  • Oversees the Executive Board
  • Works with the collegiate chapter as needed

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other Characteristics:

Demonstrated analytical skills, sound judgment and decision-making ability.  Proven effective oral and written communication and customer service skills.  Proficient skills in Microsoft Office, general bookkeeping and budget management.   Some experience in residential oversight.
