Position Title: Director of Collegiate Experience

Position Summary:  Oversee the collegiate experience department including chapter operations, chapter growth, membership development and experience of the Fraternity which affects members, staff and volunteers. Oversee the development of staff and volunteers. Serve as a member of the staff leadership team.

Essential Functions:

1. Lead department-wide initiatives.

2. Hire, train, develop and supervise collegiate experience staff; directly supervise three associate directors.

3. Develop and oversee management of department goals and plan of work directly supporting enterprise-wide strategic plan.

4. Develop and oversee department budget.

5. Develop relationships with key volunteers, fraternity and sorority advisors and fraternal partners.

6. Supervise and partner with the director of collegiate experience volunteers for oversight of all collegiate experience volunteers.

7. Supervise and partner with the director of chapter advancement for oversight of chapter advancement program.

8. Serve as liaison to National Council; partner with associate director of recruitment as liaison to NPC delegates.

9. Collaborate with collegiate experience staff on high level concerns and issues as they arise.

10. Respond to chapter emergencies, partnering with organizational leaders, legal counsel and insurance.

11. Oversee all communications from department to all constituents.

12. Provide continuous staff development opportunities to focus on issues facing collegiate members.

13. Perform other special projects and responsibilities as assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other Characteristics:

Five years experience in higher education or related field. Experience working with or knowledge of fraternities and sororities; Alpha Chi Omega membership required. Experience building relationships, leadership and management of staff, with a focus in chapter operations, membership accountability and knowledge of risk management and recruitment best practices. Demonstrated analytical and financial skills, sound judgment and decision-making ability. Proven effective oral and written communication and presentation skills. Experience in a leadership or supervisory role. Proficient in Microsoft Office and data management. Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree preferred.

Position Title: Assistant Director - Prevention and Education

Position Summary: Oversees the development of educational initiatives in the areas of alcohol education, bystander intervention, hazing prevention, and awareness of sexual assault and mental health issues.  Oversee the chapter advancement team and program responsible for creating cultural changes within chapters selected to receive supplementary chapter advancement programming and support.

Essential Functions:

1. Develop, research and maintain proactive programming for collegiate chapters focusing on the following topics:

• Reducing high risk decision making regarding alcohol, hazing and new member education
• Mental health
• Bullying
• Bystander behavior
• Retention of members

2. Coordinate the Alcohol Skills Training Program (ASTP) for collegiate chapters including supervising volunteer facilitators.

3. Develop, research and implement proactive initiatives to create changes within a chapter culture.

4. Create a set of criteria for identifying chapters in need of advancement support.

5. Work with all collegiate experience specialty areas to determine what chapters should be in the chapter advancement program based on specific criteria.

6. Travel to specific chapters with coordinator to analyze and determine needs/priorities for chapters on advancement.

7. Select and train coordinators to work with identified advancement chapters. Each coordinator will work with no more than two chapters.

8. Create a three-year “plan of work” and transition plan for advancement chapters with the help of the coordinator and any other available constituents.

9. With coordinator, develop a consistent communication protocol and reporting structure between the chapter, advancement coordinators and staff.

10. Organize and implement training for all advancement coordinators on the policies of Alpha Chi Omega.

11. With the coordinator, create a transition plan for each chapter as they complete their three-year term; this can include continuation with the chapter advancement program or a transition plan to local volunteer support only.

12. Perform other special projects and responsibilities as assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other Characteristics:

Experience working with or knowledge of fraternities and sororities; Alpha Chi Omega membership strongly preferred. Knowledge of risk management resources and best practices. Knowledge and understanding of FIPG and interpersonal communication tactics. Demonstrated analytical and strategic planning skills, sound judgment and decision-making ability. Proven effective oral and written communication and presentation skills. Experience in a leadership or supervisory role. Proficient in Microsoft Office and data management. Bachelor’s degree required.

Position Title: Assistant Director - Recruitment

Position Summary: Assists in helping to fulfill the strategic vision of Alpha Chi Omega: excel in recruitment. This individual will be responsible for aiding in all recruitment efforts including, but not limited to: recruitment visits, training webinars, report writing, coaching and mentoring. This position will carry out responsibilities in some or all of the following functional areas: departmental development; training and development of officers, advisors and consultants; organization development; and continued growth of collegiate chapters. The successful candidate will build and help grow chapters across the country and engage members in the vision and mission of Alpha Chi Omega in relevant and meaningful ways.

Essential Functions:

1. Aid in continued development and implementation of the following areas including, but not limited to: recruitment resource development, consultant training in the area of recruitment, coordination of all volunteers related to recruitment, continued officer and advisor training as it relates to recruitment, strategically position college chapters ahead of their competition, and report writing.

2. Oversee/aid chapter growth in the area of recruitment with four to five chapters.

3. Assist with oversight in conjunction with the associated director of recruitment and the recruitment specialist volunteer team. 

4. Work with the assistant director-lifetime engagement to organize and ensure proper and strategic presence at alumnae panhellenic recruitment events.

5. Create P.A.C.E. resources for continued use to help collegiate chapters better market themselves.

6. Assist with the execution of colonizations.

7. Assist with the administration of the day-to-day operations of the recruitment functions and duties.

8. Perform other special projects and responsibilities as assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other Characteristics:

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Demonstrated ability to work successfully with multiple internal and external constituencies.
• High energy and strong relationship-builder.
• Proven organizational and follow-up skills.
• Excellent analytical, problem solving and decision-making ability.

Position Title: Risk Management Coordinator

Position Summary: Oversees the development and management of all programming focusing on risk management.

Essential Functions:

1. Respond to risk management issues identified by collegiate chapters, chapter advisors/volunteers, and fraternity and sorority advisors.

2. Collaborate with collegiate experience staff to lead and address chapter investigations.

3. Manage all chapters on sanctions/probation by implementing tools to create change in the chapter culture.

4. Serve as a resource to chapters on appropriate and best practice event planning procedures and new member education programming following FIPG and Alpha Chi Omega guidelines.

5. Recruit, build and manage a group of volunteer specialists focusing on risk management.  Work with specialists to create relevant risk management resources.

6. Provide information to chapters regarding insurance information.
