Lifetime membership in Alpha Chi Omega focuses on celebrating and further developing real, strong women.

Membership in Alpha Chi Omega is not just four years, but for a lifetime! In addition to being part of a global network of women who share the same values, you can participate in activities developed specifically for Alpha Chi Omega alumnae. Here are some of the opportunities you might experience:

Alpha Chi Omega hosts an online book club just for alumnae! To sign up for the book club, join our Facebook group, AXO Alumnae Book Club. Each month, we will read a new book and have a virtual discussion. Learn more here.

Alumnae chapters connect sisters from all different chapters of initiation, adding a new and exciting level to your lifelong membership experience. These chapters are located all over the country, vary in size and are a great way to stay connected to Alpha Chi Omega.

Joining an alumnae chapter means:

  • Developing new friendships and rediscovering old bonds with sisters
  • Reconnecting to the traditions and Ritual of your college years
  • Engaging with collegians as volunteers and mentors
  • Supporting Alpha Chi Omega’s national philanthropy
  • Recruiting alumnae initiates to become a part of our sisterhood
  • Welcoming and meeting new sisters who relocate to your community

Find an alumnae chapter in your community or find more information on starting a chapter near you.

Alpha Chi Omega offers our online Lyre Links platform to alumnae chapter officers to assist with chapter management. For current resources for alumnae chapters, visit the Alumnae Chapter Resources page.

Whether we are recognizing Founders’ Day, MacDowell Month, Alpha Chi Night Out or Hera Day, we want our sisters to continue engaging in events as alumnae. Alpha Chi Night Out is celebrated as part of Healthy Relationships Week programming in February and is a designated day during which members are encouraged to connect and engage with sisters in a way that feels meaningful. Previous activities have included painting parties, yoga classes, coffee dates, group cooking classes and Zoom dates. By proactively participating in Alpha Chi Night Out, alumnae continue to foster healthy relationships with sisters and encourage other sisters to engage with the organization.
Alpha Chi Omega also periodically hosts alumnae engagement events in cities throughout the country to bring together alumnae in the area and celebrate our sisterhood.

Alpha Chi Omega members are dedicated to raising awareness and educating others about domestic violence and sexual assault prevention. Alpha Chi Omega works to educate its own members, giving them tools to build their own healthy relationships, and to raise awareness of domestic violence by educating others on its impact and work being done to end it. Alumnae opportunities include educational webinars about domestic violence, alumnae-specific curriculum and online engagement offerings.

Our biennial conventions are our largest gatherings of members and leaders. These events are a fun and exciting way to learn and network with sisters from across the country, as well as gain a newfound appreciation for the unique bonds made possible by Alpha Chi Omega.

Women & Wisdom is Alpha Chi Omega’s program that provides professional and personal development opportunities for our members. One of the core tenets of Alpha Chi Omega is wisdom, which is woven throughout our sisterhood during every stage of membership. Our collegiate and alumnae women have expressed a need for connection and opportunities to give back in meaningful ways that are interactive, engaging and flexible. Women & Wisdom was created to meet these desires and to cultivate impactful opportunities for members to form mentoring relationships, connect with each other and find career advancement. Learn more here to join our online network, offer and find mentoring support, learn something new in our virtual Women & Wisdom Series, and attend upcoming events.

Volunteers are the lifeblood of our organization. Volunteering provides tremendous opportunities for alumnae to build new skills, share specialized talent and further connect with Alpha Chi Omega sisters. We are always looking for members who are interested in giving their time and talents on local, regional and national levels for our Fraternity, Foundation, National Housing Corporation and Pearl Stone Partners. Those who volunteer contribute so much to the advancement of the organization while also gaining valuable growth opportunities and impacting sisters personally and/or professionally. For volunteers, additional engagement opportunities exist including the Golden Key webinar series, online volunteer trainings and Volunteer Summit – Alpha Chi Omega’s premier alumnae leadership academy. Take a look at our Volunteer Resources to learn more.

Since 1886, Alpha Chi Omega has welcomed women into the bonds of sisterhood through the National Alumna Initiate Program (NAIP). This program extends our membership experience to real, strong women in our communities who identify with the mission and values of Alpha Chi Omega and care about our philanthropic initiatives. Women we’ve welcomed through this program have included our friends, family members, coworkers, campus professionals and other women who have made a difference in their communities, in their professions and in the lives of others. They go on to be dedicated volunteers, involved alumnae chapter members, engaged Foundation donors and loyal sisters.
Do you have an amazing woman in your life who you think would make a great Alpha Chi Omega? We hope that you’ll help us identify standout women to invite into the bond of our sisterhood!
