Lifetime membership in Alpha Chi Omega focuses on celebrating and further developing real, strong women.

The Real. Strong. Women.® Experience is a promise Alpha Chi Omega makes to members to provide an environment where they can become the best versions of themselves through a multitude of opportunities, including alumnae engagement experiences. Alpha Chi Omega enhances the journey of alumnae sisters as they continue to accomplish amazing things personally, with others and with the world around them.  There is no doubt that membership will enrich the lives of our sisters.

In addition to being part of a global network of women who share the same values, you can participate in activities developed specifically for Alpha Chi Omega alumnae. Here are some of the opportunities you might experience:

Alumnae Book Club
Alpha Chi Omega hosts an online book club designed to engage alumnae in a variety of literary topics, including personal development, fiction and nonfiction. This program allows alumnae to connect virtually across the country through Facebook discussion boards and video discussions. You can find and join the book club on Facebook by searching “AXO Alumnae Book Club”.

Alumnae Chapters
Alumnae chapters connect sisters from all different chapters of initiation, adding a new and exciting level to your lifelong membership experience. These chapters are located all over the world, vary in size and are a great way to stay connected to Alpha Chi Omega.

Joining an alumnae chapter means:

  • Developing new friendships and rediscovering old bonds with sisters
  • Reconnecting to the traditions and rituals of your college years
  • Engaging with collegians as volunteers and mentors
  • Supporting Alpha Chi Omega’s national philanthropy
  • Recruiting alumnae initiates to become a part of our sisterhood
  • Welcoming and meeting new sisters who relocate to your community

Find a chapter in your community or find more information on starting a chapter near you.

Alumnae Development events
Alpha Chi Night Out is celebrated as part of Healthy Relationships Week programming in February and is a designated day on which alumnae members are encouraged to connect and engage with a sister/sisters in a way that feels meaningful. Previous activities have included painting parties, yoga classes, coffee dates, group cooking classes and Skype dates. By proactively participating in Alpha Chi Night Out, alumnae continue to foster healthy relationships with sisters and encourage other sisters to engage with the organization.

Alpha Chi Omega also periodically hosts alumnae development events in cities throughout the country to bring together alumnae in the area and celebrate our sisterhood.

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE AWARENESS EDUCATION
Alpha Chi Omega members are dedicated to raising awareness and educating others about domestic violence and sexual assault prevention. Alpha Chi Omega works to educate its own members, giving them tools to build their own healthy relationships, and to raise awareness of domestic violence by educating others on its impact and work being done to end it. Alumnae opportunities include educational webinars about domestic violence, alumnae-specific curriculum and online engagement opportunities.

National CONVENTION
Our biennial conventions are our largest gathering of members and leaders. These events are a fun and exciting way to learn and network with sisters from across the country, as well as gain a newfound appreciation for the unique bonds made possible by Alpha Chi Omega.

Women & Wisdom
Participating in a mentoring program is an extremely effective way for people to develop new skills, achieve goals and identify areas for growth. A good mentoring relationship is mutually beneficial for both the mentor and the mentee and, especially for the mentor, can enhance career success. One of the core tenets of Alpha Chi Omega is wisdom, which is woven throughout our sisterhood and touches every corner of the world. Our collegians and alumnae have expressed a need for connection and opportunities to give back to Alpha Chi Omega in meaningful ways that are interactive, engaging, flexible and time-finite. Enter Women & Wisdom.

Volunteer
Volunteers are the lifeblood of our organization. Volunteering provides tremendous opportunities for alumnae to build new skills, share specialized talent and further connect with Alpha Chi Omega sisters. We’re always looking for members who are interested in giving their time and talents on local, regional and national levels for our Fraternity, Foundation and National Housing Corporation. Those who volunteer contribute so much to the advancement of the organization while also gaining valuable growth opportunities impacting sisters personally and/or professionally. As a volunteer, additional learning opportunities exist such as the Golden Key webinar series and attending Volunteer Summit – Alpha Chi Omega’s premier alumnae leadership academy.
