The goal of Alpha Chi Omega's Healthy Relationships Week is to foster the development of healthy relationships, and by so doing, prevent domestic violence and sexual assault. The week's programming is open to all members (family and friends, too)!
1. Educate yourself and your sisters!
Alpha Chi Omega has created a brief, 30-minute
Program with Purpose for Healthy Relationships Week 2019 for collegiate and alumnae chapters. They can use time within an established meeting to facilitate the curriculum focused on promoting healthy relationships and understanding the relationship spectrum. Be sure to check out the optional additions to the primary program, focused on communicating effectively, resolving conflict and stepping in!
2. Promote healthy relationships on social media and on campus!
We are also asking our members to participate in the “Love is…” campaign. All you have to do is take a picture of yourself with a sign that says “Love is ____________” with your personal definition of love. The best part is anyone can participate in this campaign – not just members of Alpha Chi Omega! Collegiate chapters will be receiving Healthy Relationships Week branded buttons to take photos with. If you would like to download the “Love is…” branded materials that chapters will be using, please see the links below! Don’t forget to use the hashtag #healthyAXOlove and tag @AlphaChiOmegaHQ when posting your pictures to Facebook, Twitter or Instagram.
3. Raise awareness!
Get creative with your involvement. An excellent resource to help brainstorm great ideas to honor HRW is loveisrespect.org and joinonelove.org. Consider hosting a tabling event, running a social media campaign, sharing a video from
One Love Foundation or
loveisrespect.org or organizing a “Love is…” campaign on your campus to promote the Healthy Relationships Week message.
The opportunities to promote Healthy Relationships Week are endless, and we ask that you lead the charge! Keep up-to-date with other activities and content, plus take a look at what others are doing to get involved via
Facebook,
Twitter and
Instagram.
Need to connect with a peer advocate about a relationship? text “loveis” to 22522.
