Social Justice Institute
INTRODUCTION
Alpha Chi Omega has two desired outcomes from our diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) work – to increase diversity in our membership throughout every level of the organization and to nurture and develop a membership experience that is increasingly equitable and inclusive for members, volunteers and staff.
As part of that work, Alpha Chi Omega has created the Social Justice Institute (SJI), a social justice experience for members who share a passion for domestic violence outreach and community support.

Social Justice Institute 2023 will be a fully virtual experience!
Our 2023 Social Justice Institute focus will be domestic violence outreach and community support. Over the course of six weeks, our SJI cohort will meet virtually to gain an affinity for initiating change and ambition to create environments that promote equity and inclusion. Additionally, members will build relationships with sisters who share their passion for social change.
Members who participate in Alpha Chi Omega’s Social Justice Institute should have a passion for, as well as skills and knowledge in:
- Recognizing one’s beliefs and biases to maximize self-awareness
- Practicing mutual respect for qualities and experiences that are different from their own
- Identifying social identities and the impact they have on personal narratives and the communities in which individuals live
- Understanding the importance of diversity, equity and inclusion efforts in Alpha Chi Omega
Alpha Chi Omega is making an investment in you! Participation in the Social Justice Institute comes at no additional cost to participants, thanks to the generous support and funds from the Alpha Chi Omega Foundation.
