Healthy Relationships Week

Healthy Relationships Week

february 7-13, 2021

The goal of Alpha Chi Omega's Healthy Relationships Week is to foster the development of healthy relationships and, by so doing, prevent domestic violence and sexual assault. The week's programming is open to all who wish to create real change in their community – members and nonmembers!

Our Healthy Relationships Week 2021 focus is mutual respect.

Mutual respect is a cornerstone to every healthy relationship. Alpha Chi Omega challenges you to evaluate your relationships with family, friends and/or romantic partners to see where you can work to create balance in your relationships with continual efforts toward mutual respect!

EDUCATE YOURSELF, YOUR SISTERS AND YOUR COMMUNITY!

Alpha Chi Omega has created a brief, 30-minute Program with Purpose for Healthy Relationships Week 2021 on promoting healthy relationships and working toward mutual respect for collegiate and alumnae chapters to facilitate within an established chapter meeting. Be sure to check out the PowerPoint resource, created specifically for this content!
  • Programming coming soon!

PROMOTE HEALTHY RELATIONSHIPS ONLINE AND IN YOUR COMMUNITY!

We are also asking our members to participate in the Love is… campaign. All you have to do is use a graphic option below to share your “Love is ____________”, filling in your personal definition of love!

The best part is anyone can participate in this campaign – not just members of Alpha Chi Omega! If you would like to download the Love is… branded materials that collegiate chapters will be using, please see the links below (available in January)! Don’t forget to use the hashtags #healthyAXOlove and #AXO and tag @AlphaChiOmegaHQ when posting your pictures to Facebook, Twitter or Instagram.

RAISE AWARENESS!

Get creative with your involvement. Excellent resources to help brainstorm great ideas to honor HRW are loveisrespect.org and joinonelove.org. Consider running a social media campaign, sharing a video from One Love Foundation or loveisrespect.org, or organizing a Love is… campaign to promote the Healthy Relationships Week message.

CONNECT WITH SISTERS ON FEBRUARY 9 FOR ALPHA CHI NIGHT OUT!

During Healthy Relationships Week, Alpha Chi Omega asks our alumnae members to make plans with sisters in their area or across the world! Whether it is a virtual night in or a safe night out with sisters, our goal is to engage as many sisters as possible in a fun night (or day) of fellowship and sisterhood. Here are just a few ideas to get you started on your planning: brunch, fitness class, playdates, game night or a Zoom/FaceTime/phone call with a sister in another city, state or country. There is no expectation for what you should do, other than enjoy the company of at least one other Alpha Chi Omega alumna!

On the Alpha Chi Night Out webpage, we will share details for events nationwide that are open for alumnae sisters to attend. With a little help from technology, just about any event can be made virtual! Please submit your open-invite event by completing this brief form so we can add it to the list. We hope your alumnae chapter will plan an event in celebration of #AXONightOut and that sharing events helps sisters meet other Alpha Chi Omegas, even during this time of social distancing and virtual gatherings!

SHARE YOUR IMPACT!

Share this year’s photos honoring Healthy Relationships Week with headquarters through photos.alphachiomega.org. Also, you can help us build our history website by submitting previous years' HRW event photos via the same method - just let us know the year the pictures are from!

The opportunities for Healthy Relationships Week are endless, and we ask that you lead the charge! Keep up to date with activities and graphics to share, as well as take a look at what others are doing to get involved via Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
