The goal of Alpha Chi Omega's Healthy Relationships Week is to foster the development of healthy relationships, and by so doing, prevent domestic violence and sexual assault. The week's programming is open to all members (family and friends, too)!
This year, Alpha Chi Omega has created a brief, 15-minute Program with Purpose titled “Evaluating Relationships 101” for collegiate or alumnae chapters to present within the chapter or to their local campus community. The program features a brief video on how to evaluate the health of your relationships and comes with a full facilitation guide to help guide the discussion.
We are also asking our members to again participate in the Love is… Campaign. It’s really simple; all you have to do is take a picture of yourself with a sign that says “Love is ____________”, which will include your personal definition of love. The best part is anyone can participate in this campaign – not just members of Alpha Chi Omega. Don’t forget to use the hashtags #healthyAXOlove and #AXO and tag @AlphaChiOmegaHQ when posting your pictures to Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram.
Get creative with your involvement. Healthy Relationships Week is a great time to educate our chapters and communities about consent. An excellent resource to help brainstorm great ideas to honor HRW is the loveisrespect National Youth Advisory Board’s Respect Week Guide
. Post a flyer about healthy relationships on your campus, organize Wear Orange Day or a Love is… Campaign on your campus, chalk on sidewalks around your campus, create a PSA video or write a story/blog post. The opportunities are endless, and we ask that you lead the charge! Keep up-to-date with other activities and graphic elements, as well as take a look at what others are doing to get involved via Facebook
With so many fun opportunities to show your support for HRW, why wouldn’t you join Alpha Chi Omega in changing the conversation around forming and sustaining healthy relationships?
