IRS Letter 226J

Chapters may receive a notification from the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) that requires a response within 30 days of receipt. Due to the time sensitivity associated with the letter, it requires immediate attention. Headquarters staff is positioned to provide support and respond to the notification on chapters’ behalf.
 
A few important notes about the IRS mailing, Letter 226J:
  • It is a very time-sensitive communication. Experts expect it will arrive before the end of 2017. It requires a response within 30 days of receipt.
    • Watch for Letter 226J. It will arrive via United States postal mail.
    • Upon receipt of Letter 226J, do not respond. Instead, immediately scan all of the pages and email them to Alpha Chi Omega headquarters at HR@alphachiomega.org.
    • Our staff is prepared to respond to Letter 226J on your chapter’s behalf!

  • Only chapters with employees (a house director, chef/cook, housekeeper, waiter, etc.) may receive the letter.
