Share Your Story

Alpha Chi Omegas are adventure-takers and go-getters. They are experts in their field and passionate about helping others. They are loyal sisters and real, strong women. They have stories – and we want to share them!
We rely on members like you to find story ideas and start conversations on topics that are important or interesting to our members. Volunteer writers and photographers seeking an opportunity to be published are also invited to contribute.
Opportunities to share your story include The Lyre magazine, our blog, our e-newsletters and our social media.

Simply send your story idea and/or a sample of your work to our editor for consideration.
Members and chapters wishing to send notes about events and accomplishments should submit a three- to five-sentence description and list of anyone in a picture via email. They can also be mailed to:
Alpha Chi Omega Headquarters, c/o The Lyre

We are always telling stories across our platforms, but submission deadlines for each issue of The Lyre are as follows:
Spring: January 1
Summer: April 1
Fall: July 1
Winter: October 1

We also agree with the saying, “A picture is worth a thousand words” – and we want to share your story in pictures with our sisterhood! Submit your high-resolution, unfiltered photos, along with details about the members or events featured, at You do not need to log in to submit photos. Please provide photographer credit when applicable and ensure permission of all those pictured to share.
Photos submitted for all our storytelling platforms must be high-resolution JPEGs or TIFFs at least 300 dpi or 1 MB in size. Original photos off your camera or computer are best. Photos from applications such as Facebook, Instagram and Pic Stitch are typically low resolution; these particularly do not work well for print purposes.
To find the dpi of a photo, right-click on the photo or file name on your computer, choose Properties from the menu, click on the Details tab, then scroll down to where it says Horizontal resolution and Vertical resolution. Both of those should be at least 300 dpi. If they are less than that, the photo may appear grainy when printed.

Please note that not all submissions may be featured, nor are any considered “issue-specific.” Alpha Chi Omega reserves the right to determine the platform that is best to feature each story or photo and to use any submissions for marketing purposes.
