Learning at Convention

Learning at Convention

We are just a few short months away from a fun-filled weekend in Indianapolis for Alpha Chi Omega’s 62nd National Convention. Beyond the fun, networking and sisterhood, you may be wondering what you can expect to learn at the convention. We have a range of education sessions that will interest everyone! In one of our breakout opportunities, you can hear from the CEO of LogicMark, Chia-Lin Simmons (Iota Nu, University of California San Diego), in her session about female leadership and empowerment. We will also hear from cardiologist Ellen Thompson, M.D. (Gamma Omicron, Marshall University) about women’s health and how to make heart-smart decisions. We have many more sessions for members to enjoy over a wide variety of subjects like fundraising, teambuilding and leadership!

JessIn our keynote session, we will introduce you to Jess Ekstrom, a professional speaker and author. Jess has started two multi-million-dollar social enterprises that have helped women and girls all over the world. In her session, PACE Your Mind: Change Your Inner Dialogue and Step into Your Purpose, Alpha Chi Omegas will identify the five core mindsets we have and how to use them: The Reactor (happens in times of pressure), The Student (happens in new territory), The Lawyer (happens in conflict), The Dreamer (happens on the edge of opportunity) and The Evaluator (happens when we reflect on our life and progress).

Along with our keynote, we will have sessions that offer training opportunities for convention attendees in specific roles including local house corporation representatives, alumnae chapter officers and alumnae volunteers, and collegiate chapter officers and collegiate volunteers. Members will enjoy specialized sessions catered to their role, led by subject matter experts. There also will be various opportunities throughout the weekend to network with sisters from across the country and build connections to last a lifetime.

Convention has learning opportunities for everyone! Whether you are first-time attendee, collegian or alumna, you will unlock a wide variety of learning and networking opportunities. Don’t wait – register today! Visit alphachiomega.org/convention to learn about registration options and schedule details. We can’t wait to set the pace together in July!
