Unlock Your Purpose

DISCOVER Community and CREATE CHANGE with alpha chi omega’s keys to service program

Every one person holds the power to create positive change – sometimes all they need is the space to discover itAlpha Chi Omega’s Keys to Service program provides that space by inviting collegiate and alumnae sisters to unlock their purposeWhether you’re just beginning your service journey or you’re a seasoned volunteer looking to amplify your impact, Keys to Service offers a meaningful path toward growth, connection and lifelong devotion to serving others.

Program Experience

Keys to Service is a four-week program designed to deepen members’ understanding of Alpha Chi Omega’s key values — wisdom, devotion, achievement and commitment — and apply them to meet real community needs. Each 75-minute virtual session includes interactive discussions and activities led by experienced Alpha Chi Omega alumnae and nonprofit professionals. Participants will receive curated resources, practical strategies for supporting domestic violence prevention organizations and nonprofits, and opportunities to grow alongside sisters

Looking back on their Keys to Service experience, participants shared:

“I am excited to share all of the understanding I have gained. I came into this with knowledge about DVA resources in my area, but I am coming out with knowledge of more widespread resources and a deeper understanding of the various experiences of victims.”  Ella Sibbersen (Alpha Chi, Butler University)

“I am excited to share what I have learned with others. Specifically about burnout and how to manage external change while focusing on ourselves.” – Madison Crow (Iota Omicron, University of Lynchburg)

From learning to leading

Keys to Service doesn’t stop at conversation – it inspires action! Participants are already applying what they learned to create meaningful change in their communities, from supporting domestic violence prevention efforts to volunteering with local nonprofits. Here are just a few examples of their impact:

  • Maddie Suttle (Gamma Xi, Western Michigan University) rallied her chapter to assemble essential needs bags for their local YWCA, providing critical resources to women in need.
  • Kelsee Hankin(Upsilon, Millikin University) partnered with the Junior League of Indianapolis to prepare the Isaiah 117 House, creating a welcoming space for children awaiting foster placement.
  • Maddie Vaugh (Alpha Chi, Butler University) joined forces with the Purdue University Alumni Association to support her local food bank, helping fight hunger in her community.

These actions reflect the heart of Keys to Service: empowering members to turn their passion into action!

BUILDING CONNECTION

Beyond practical knowledge, Keys to Service fosters lifelong connections. Participants build a supportive network week after week, connecting with sisters from diverse backgrounds who share their experiences and passions! These relationships inspire confidence, spark collaboration and fuel conversations about social change. Participants shared:

“I am excited to use what I’ve learned in my future philanthropic efforts. I will utilize the new connections I’ve made with everyone in this group and our weekly speakers.”  Mel Lindsey (Zeta Nu, Texas A&M University)

I gained so much understanding of terminology, things to consider when helping other people in need, and most importantly meeting other sisters who are passionate about the same things.”  Eshita Shrawan (Kappa Nu, Carnegie Mellon University)

“I am excited to see where my future career journey takes me as I apply to medical school. Everyone’s excitement to make a difference has inspired me as well!” – Gia Clementi (Phi, University of Kansas)
