Looking back on my chapter consultant journey from summer training to now, I can confidently say that I’ve grown in more ways than I ever expected. Stepping into the chapter consultant role was both exciting and intimidating. In those early summer weeks, I was focused on learning the expectations, figuring out how to manage visits and finding confidence in leading conversations with chapter officers and advisors. As I’ve continued to grow in this role, I’ve become more intentional in how I communicate and lead with purpose. I’ve learned that meaningful conversations are built on trust, authenticity and clear communication. These skills have shaped not only how I show up for each chapter, but also how I collaborate with and support my team.
Throughout this experience, I’ve found myself growing not just as a professional, but as a leader who truly believes in the potential of others. When I first stepped into this role, I often questioned whether I had the right words to guide chapters through challenges. Over time, I’ve learned to trust my instincts and lean on the training and experiences that have shaped me to lead with confidence. Each visit has pushed me to think critically, communicate clearly and adapt to the unique needs of every chapter. Whether that means navigating unexpected recruitment changes, helping officers find motivation mid-semester or celebrating the small wins that build momentum, each experience has taught me the value of intentional leadership and authentic connection. The most rewarding part of this role has been watching women realize their own strength and leadership potential. In encouraging others to believe in themselves, I’ve found a deeper sense of confidence in my own abilities and a clearer understanding of the kind of leader I strive to be.
As I reflect on the past few months, I’m proud of how far I’ve come and grateful for all the opportunities this role has given me to grow. I’m surrounded by an incredible consultant team and staff who challenge me, support me and remind me why this work matters — especially in the moments when it feels the hardest. I’m excited to keep learning, connecting and leading with purpose as the year continues.
